Earlier claims had accused JAMB of spending N1.1 billion on meals and N850 million on fumigation, sparking outrage. However, after a review of documents submitted by JAMB, the committee concluded there was no evidence of financial recklessness.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the committee chairman clarified that the accusations were based on misunderstandings of JAMB’s budgetary details. The statement read:

“For clarity, the comprehensive report submitted by JAMB shows that the items mentioned earlier do not indicate any mismanagement or misuse of funds. Instead, the report highlights responsible and prudent financial practices under the leadership of the Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede.”

The chairman commended Professor Oloyede for his financial discipline, calling it a model for public institutions nationwide.

The clarification marks a significant turn in the controversy, further strengthening JAMB’s reputation for transparency and accountability under its current administration.
