NDLEA Applauds Tinubu’s Commitment To Anti-Drug Campaign
In a resounding acknowledgment of unwavering support, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. During a press interaction amidst an inspection of facilities at the nearly completed NDLEA barracks in Yola, Adamawa state, Marwa underscored the significance of President Tinubu’s continuous dedication to the fight against the drug menace.
“We thank God for the project, and we appreciate the continuity in governance,” Marwa expressed. “President Tinubu has continued with the same zeal and drive, demonstrating genuine concern towards the NDLEA’s mission.”
Marwa commended the progress achieved in the construction of the barracks, emphasizing the exceptional standard and quality of work undertaken by consultants and contractors. He revealed that the project is nearing completion, with an impressive 95% progress, showcasing exemplary craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
The NDLEA boss outlined the agency’s ambitious plans to establish barracks across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, ensuring equitable distribution and reinforcing the commitment to combat drug-related crimes effectively.
Furthermore, Marwa reiterated the agency’s proactive approach in addressing the root causes of substance abuse by collaborating with stakeholders to raise awareness and implement preventive measures. He emphasized the pivotal role of various sectors, including the media, religious institutions, educational bodies, and community leaders, in the collective effort to eradicate drug abuse from Nigerian society.
Amidst ongoing efforts to dismantle drug cartels operating across borders, Marwa hinted at imminent briefings to the nation regarding significant seizures and arrests, highlighting the agency’s relentless pursuit of justice and its determination to safeguard the nation’s well-being.
