Netizens React To What Drogba Said About Osimhen To Chelsea

The 31-year-old center-back has struggled with injuries this season, limiting him to just five appearances for the club.…..READ MORE

Now exploring new opportunities, Omeruo is considering offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He has a long history with Kasimpasa, having initially joined on loan from Chelsea in 2015, returning in 2017 for another loan spell before making a permanent switch in 2023. Across his two stints at the club, he recorded two goals and three assists in 85 appearances.

Meanwhile, former West Ham United and Southampton defender Jose Fonte has weighed in on Chelsea’s failure to sign Victor Osimhen, a move he believes could have transformed the Premier League club.

Chelsea had been heavily linked with Osimhen last summer, but the Nigerian striker eventually secured a season-long loan to Galatasaray from Napoli.

Fonte, comparing Osimhen to Didier Drogba, stated:
“Chelsea needs a striker like Victor Osimhen. His speed, strength, and technical skills make him a nightmare for defenders. He could have become a club legend like Drogba.”

The former Portugal international further expressed surprise that no Premier League club secured Osimhen’s signature, saying:
“It was shocking to see him move to Galatasaray when he had the potential to dominate English football. Once he arrives in the Premier League, he will undoubtedly leave a huge impact.”

Reflecting on his personal experience facing Osimhen in the Champions League, Fonte admitted:
“Even though he may have gone easy on me as a friend, he was still an incredibly tough opponent.”

With Omeruo now weighing his next career move and Osimhen continuing to shine on the European stage, both players remain key figures in Nigerian football’s global presence.
