President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), Aliko Dangote, has commended the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, saying the measures are gradually placing Nigeria on a sustainable path of economic growth.

Dangote said the ongoing fiscal, monetary and regulatory reforms had contributed to improved macroeconomic stability, stronger investor confidence and increased productivity across key sectors of the economy.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the businessman said the emerging positive indicators demonstrated the importance of maintaining consistent and market-driven policies to achieve long-term economic development.

“The economic reforms being implemented by the federal government are beginning to yield tangible results. We are witnessing improved economic activity, stronger investor confidence, increased industrial productivity, and a more resilient business environment.

“These measures are laying a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and long-term prosperity for Nigeria,” he said.

Dangote praised the federal government for what he described as the courage and determination to implement difficult but necessary reforms, noting that the benefits were increasingly becoming evident.

He said the policies had created a more favourable operating environment for businesses, particularly large-scale manufacturing and industrial enterprises that play important roles in economic diversification, employment generation, foreign exchange earnings and national competitiveness.

“We commend the federal government for its courage and determination in implementing reforms that are essential for economic transformation.

“While every reform process comes with initial challenges, the benefits are increasingly evident in stronger economic indicators, improved business confidence, and renewed investor interest in Nigeria,” Dangote stated.

The DIL president also linked the continued growth and operations of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex to the government’s policy direction.

He said measures aimed at expanding domestic refining capacity, reducing dependence on imports, strengthening energy security and promoting local value addition had supported the refinery’s development and contributed to Nigeria’s broader economic objectives.

“The progress being recorded at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex is closely linked to a policy environment that encourages investment, supports domestic industrialisation, and promotes self-sufficiency.

“These reforms are helping Nigerian businesses to plan with greater certainty, invest with confidence, and compete effectively on the global stage,” he said.

Dangote noted that the refinery’s expanding operations were contributing to the Nigerian economy through foreign exchange generation, job creation, stronger local supply chains and efforts to position the country as a major energy and manufacturing hub.

“Our vision has always been to support Nigeria’s economic development through transformative investments. Today, we are witnessing how the combination of private-sector commitment and decisive government policies can unlock unprecedented opportunities for national growth.

“The refinery, petrochemical operations, fertiliser production, and our other industrial investments are helping to build a more self-reliant, competitive, and prosperous economy,” he stated.

He expressed optimism that continued reforms, policy consistency and closer cooperation between the public and private sectors would further stimulate economic activity, attract foreign direct investment and strengthen Nigeria’s position as one of Africa’s leading investment destinations.

Dangote said he remained confident about the country’s economic prospects, adding that sustained implementation of reforms and increased private-sector participation could help Nigeria achieve greater industrial and economic strength.

“Nigeria is on the path to becoming one of the world’s leading industrial and economic powers. With continued policy consistency, robust private-sector participation, and investment-led growth, the future of our economy is exceptionally bright,” he said.
