Nigerian rapper Erigga has responded to singer Davido following a social media exchange sparked by a discussion about artistes who built successful careers without relying on family wealth.

“Na shoutout to the ones wey get it out the mud without family money dey make David crash out? From where to where?” Erigga wrote.

The rapper continued by sarcastically suggesting that people from wealthy backgrounds should focus on motivating themselves instead of taking offence at those celebrating achievements made through personal struggle.

Erigga also took a direct swipe at Davido’s privileged background, referring to the singer as the “Ambassador of RICH KIDS.”

“Big man pikin dey cry say poor men children dey hail dem self??? Motivate your self naw. Ambassador of RICH KIDS,” he added.
