Major General Clement Nwachukwu, the Army’s spokesperson, confirmed the development, stating that Ikolo was released to Senator Dafinone due to the absence of evidence establishing his culpability, although he has not been officially exonerated.

Ikolo voluntarily surrendered himself to the police after he and several others were implicated by the military in connection with the killing of 17 army personnel in Okuama on March 14th.

He had remained in military custody for about a month following his surrender to the police, until his recent release under the custody of Senator Dafinone.

Further details on the matter are expected to be provided later.
