The movement criticized the current APC-led federal government for its lack of direction, accusing it of confusion and mediocrity, while highlighting the hardships faced by Nigerians under its rule.

During the Obidient Movement Conference, titled “Reawakening and Harmonizing Obidient Movement for a New Nigeria,” Prof. Pat Utomi stressed the need for effective governance, while Prof. Chris Nwaokobia called for early preparations for the 2027 elections, emphasizing the government’s failure to address critical issues like hunger and economic instability.

Chief Chris Biose, Chairman of the Delta Obidient Elders Council, criticized the nation’s poor performance despite its vast resources and urged the movement to reignite the momentum from the 2023 election for a renewed push toward good governance.

The vision for a “New Nigeria” focused on self-reliance, with an emphasis on production over consumption, equitable distribution of resources, and a government that serves the masses rather than the elite.
