During the Special Holy Ghost Congress in Abuja, Adeboye explained that Nigeria’s financial woes were rooted in the country’s reliance on imported petrol, despite being an oil-producing nation. He criticized the billions of naira wasted on non-functional refineries, which added to the burden.

The RCCG leader acknowledged the backlash from those who lost out from the subsidy removal, but emphasized the necessity of divine assistance in addressing Nigeria’s ongoing economic challenges. He also reflected on the naira’s rapid depreciation, thanking God for the prayers that helped stabilize the currency.

“If God hadn’t intervened, $1 could have been worth ₦10,000 by now,” Adeboye said, highlighting the critical importance of prayer in the nation’s recovery
