PDP Disciplinary Committee Proposes Expulsion Of Anyanwu

The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has deepened as the party’s Disciplinary Committee has recommended the expulsion of embattled National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu……..READ MORE

The committee submitted its report on Wednesday during a National Working Committee (NWC) meeting presided over by PDP National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum. Anyanwu was accused of gross misconduct, anti-party activities, and other infractions but failed to appear before the committee to defend himself.

Security operatives, including the Department of State Services (DSS), police, and civil defense officers, took over the PDP headquarters in Abuja after clashes broke out between party staff and supporters of Anyanwu, who reportedly attempted to lock out NWC members attending their routine meeting.

The party has rejected Anyanwu’s claim to the National Secretary position, pointing to a Court of Appeal ruling in Enugu on December 20, 2024, which upheld his removal and confirmed Hon. Sunday Udeh-Okoye as the rightful occupant of the office. Anyanwu had appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court, which has yet to deliver a final verdict.

This latest development underscores the ongoing leadership crisis within the PDP, with factions vying for control of key positions as the party navigates internal conflicts.
