Pete Edochie Mourns Alexx Ekubo, Says He Had Big Plans For His 80th Birthday

Edochie, while speaking in an interview with PM News, reflected on his brief but memorable encounters with the late actor, noting that although they met only three times, each meeting left a strong impact due to Ekubo’s warm and lively disposition.

He recalled a particular visit in which Ekubo arrived at his hotel accompanied by a cow and a troupe of Ogene drummers to formally invite him to an event, an act he described as remarkable and unforgettable.

The veteran actor further revealed that Ekubo had once shared plans for his 80th birthday celebration scheduled for next year, a plan that will now remain unfulfilled following his passing.

Edochie also commended the loyalty of actor IK Ogbonna, stating that he remained a steadfast friend to Ekubo both during his lifetime and after his death.

“He came, he saw, and he left an indelible impression,” Edochie was quoted as saying, adding that the late actor’s memory would continue to live on.
