Obi juxtaposed the LP’s internal challenges with the turmoil within the APC and PDP, stating that the crises in the Labour Party pale in comparison to those experienced by the major political parties.

The LP has recently faced internal strife, prompting the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) leadership to call for the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Julius Abure. Despite this, the Abure-led National Working Committee (NWC) proceeded with a national convention in Nnewi, Anambra State, where Abure was reelected.

However, the NLC nullified the outcome of the convention and called for the formation of a transition committee to oversee the party’s affairs until new officers are elected within three months.

Obi’s remarks highlight the relative scale of internal challenges within political parties, suggesting that while the LP grapples with its issues, they are of a lesser magnitude compared to the crises faced by larger parties like the APC and PDP.
