The inspector, whose identity has been withheld, was last seen by community members three days ago, appearing healthy and showing no signs of distress. However, concerns arose on Saturday morning when neighbours noticed a strange odour emanating from his residence in the Layin Bayan area of Wulari Jerusalem.

Upon discovery, alarmed neighbours promptly alerted the authorities, leading to immediate action by the Borno Police Command. Officers from the metro division were deployed to the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the inspector’s death.

According to a source who spoke to Daily Trust, the inspector’s door was found locked from the inside, raising suspicions. After breaking into the apartment, his lifeless body was discovered on the bedroom floor.

The community remains baffled by the tragic turn of events, as no apparent reason for the inspector’s suicide has been uncovered. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
