In his remarks, Senator Urhoghide highlighted his 13-year-three-month stint with the PDP and expressed his pleasure in rejoining the APC as a founding member. He voiced his confidence in the party’s leadership and committed to contributing to its growth while supporting its candidates in the upcoming 2024 Edo governorship election.

Several other politicians were also welcomed from the PDP to the APC during the event, including Patrick Giwa, a former clerk of the House of Representatives, and eight local government chairmen, including Frank Ilaboya of Owan West Local Government Area.

APC leaders present at the event, including Senator Adams Oshiomhole and the state executive, received the new members into the party. Oshiomhole extended an apology to Senator Urhoghide for a past error in judgment and welcomed him back to the party.

Oshiomhole praised Senator Urhoghide as a resilient and resourceful politician with significant experience, which would contribute to the party’s success. As a gesture of trust, Oshiomhole nominated Senator Urhoghide as the party’s director general for the upcoming Edo State governorship election campaign team, a role that Urhoghide graciously accepted.
