Hull City winger Sorba Thomas has escaped injury after his vehicle was involved in a car crash near the club’s training ground in Cottingham, England, in the early hours of September 11.

According to Ireporter Online, the 27-year-old Wales international was involved in the incident on Millhouse Woods Lane, close to Hull City’s training base. Images circulating on social media appeared to show his grey Land Rover Defender overturned, with damaged windows.

Humberside Police confirmed that emergency services responded to the incident and that the road was closed as investigations into the crash continued.

Hull City subsequently moved to reassure supporters, confirming that Thomas was not injured and had emerged from the vehicle without harm.

The club said it was relieved to confirm the winger was completely unscathed after the incident, adding that it was aware of images of the damaged vehicle circulating online.

Thomas recently joined Hull City from Stoke City after signing a four-year contract with the club. The transfer was completed for an undisclosed fee, with the winger expected to remain at the club until the summer of 2030.

The Wales international previously represented his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and is now facing uncertainty over his availability for Hull City’s Premier League meeting with Chelsea on Saturday.

It remains unclear whether head coach Sergej Jakirovic will include Thomas in the squad for the trip to Stamford Bridge following the early-morning accident.
