Qatar Reverses Decision, Agrees To Host Investment Forum During Tinubu’s Visit

Initially, a leaked memo from the embassy of Qatar in Abuja had conveyed the country’s reluctance to proceed with the investment forum during President Bola Tinubu’s upcoming visit to Qatar on March 2, 2024. However, recent updates indicate a change of heart from the Qatari government.
Despite the initial setback, both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the presidency have affirmed that President Tinubu’s trip to Qatar remains scheduled. In a reassuring statement released on Saturday, presidential media aide Bayo Onanuga confirmed that the state visit will proceed as planned, extending an invitation from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
