This follows the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) inclusion of his name on the ballot after an appeal court ruling on Friday that mandated the replacement of Olusola Ebiseni as the LP candidate.

Meanwhile, tension heightened in Ofosun Village, located near the Ondo-Edo State boundary, as gunshots reportedly fired by unidentified individuals caused panic on Saturday.

Residents of the area opted to stay indoors for safety amid the chaos.

“We don’t know who they are, but they’ve been firing gunshots into the air in parts of the village since early morning. Ofosun is an Ondo village close to Benin in Edo State. No casualties have been reported, but people are staying indoors.”

The motive behind the incident remains unclear. However, Festus Akingbaso, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while commending voter turnout, raised concerns about the infiltration of Idanre Local Government villages by suspected hoodlums.
