Governorship Polls: Ondo Deputy Governor Adelami Joins Voters At Owo Ward

Speaking to reporters after fulfilling his voting obligation, Adelami urged residents of Owo and the wider Ondo State to participate actively in the election process.
“Your vote is your power,” Adelami stated. “I encourage everyone to come out and vote. By doing so, you contribute to the promotion of good governance and a better Ondo State.”
Adelami is the deputy to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, representing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate Highlights Security Issues
Festus Akingbaso, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a House of Representatives member, cast his vote at Polling Unit 005, Oke Imikan.
While commending the peaceful turnout of voters and security arrangements at polling units, Akingbaso expressed concern over the activities of thugs in Idanre Local Government Area.
“I am impressed with the voter turnout and the orderly conduct at polling units so far, but the activities of thugs in Idanre are troubling,” Akingbaso said.
He called on security agencies to safeguard voters and electoral officials, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the integrity of the election process. Residents of Idanre have echoed similar concerns, urging authorities to address the situation promptly.
Election Progress and Stakeholder Perspectives
As voting continues across Ondo State, stakeholders are emphasizing the need for a credible and peaceful election. Security personnel have been reinforced in areas flagged as potential hotspots to ensure a smooth process.
Akingbaso commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its efforts so far and encouraged voters to remain vigilant.
“My advice to voters is to stay behind after casting their votes and monitor the process until the final results are announced. If all goes as planned, I am confident my party will emerge victorious,” he stated.
