Rivers State On The Brink! PANDEF Races To Reconcile Fubara & Wike

During a closed-door meeting in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, discussions focused on fostering unity between the two key political figures—Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister Nyesom Wike.

Chairman of the Rivers Elders Forum, Rufus George, expressed optimism about the reconciliation process, highlighting progress in resolving the conflict. He emphasized that lasting peace could be achieved if all parties honored the people’s mandate and called on President Bola Tinubu to support the mediation efforts.

Niger Delta activist AnnKio Briggs applauded PANDEF’s intervention, stressing that political stability in Rivers State is crucial for national unity. She urged the committee to encourage the presidency to engage all stakeholders in finding a sustainable solution.

The PANDEF delegation included former Governor Victor Attah (Chairman), Senator Roland Owie, Senator Emmanuel Essien, Col. Pam Ogar, Senator Stella Omu, and Engineer Dagogo Jack.

Representing the Rivers Elders Forum were Chief George, Admiral O. P. Fingesi, Sir Gabriel Toby, Senator Benneth Birabi, AnnKio Briggs, Senator Andrew Uchendu, and Anabs Sara-Igbe.

The meeting ended on a hopeful note, with leaders reaffirming their commitment to restoring peace and stability in Rivers State.
