While acknowledging Ronaldo’s remarkable career, Rodri emphasized Messi’s unique, natural talent that, in his view, sets the Argentine apart.

“Without a doubt, Lionel Messi is the greatest player of all time,” Rodri stated.

He continued, “Cristiano has reached Messi’s level through sheer hard work and determination, but those of us who have faced both players can see clear differences in their playing styles.”

Reflecting on the challenges of defending against these two football legends, Rodri explained, “When facing Cristiano, our main focus was preventing him from getting into the box, where he’s particularly lethal. With Messi, though, the threat is much broader across the entire field.”

In addition to discussing the GOAT debate, Rodri shared his experience of winning the Ballon d’Or last month, where he edged out Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
