The university’s Director of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol, Njelita Louis, confirmed this in a statement on Thursday.

In addition to Ikechebelu’s reinstatement, Mr. Victor Modebelu has been returned to his role as Acting Registrar, replacing Barr. Mrs. Rosemary Ifeoma Nwokike, whose appointment was also revoked due to irregularities.

The statement clarified that this move aligns with directives from the Ministry of Education and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval. Prof. Ikechebelu will resume full administrative duties immediately, with all matters requiring council approval to be referred to the Minister of Education until a new council is established.

The university community has been called to support the reinstated leaders as they work towards advancing the institution’s goals.
