Sanwo-Olu – Nigeria Not Yet Where It Should Be
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, remarked that Nigeria has not yet reached its desired economic status, although acknowledging significant progress amidst various challenges. He stressed the necessity for collaboration between the public and private sectors to serve and benefit the citizens effectively. Sanwo-Olu urged the establishment of a robust network of like-minded individuals across all sectors to lay a solid foundation for future growth.
While acknowledging the nation’s strides, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the ongoing need for improvement and setting goals to inspire continuous advancement. He highlighted the imperative of synergy within the public sector and encouraged overcoming compartmentalization to pursue a collective agenda of service and citizen benefit.
Sanwo-Olu commended the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) for its significant contribution to the nation’s economic progress, praising its role as a proponent of collaboration in Nigeria. He noted the NESG’s launch of a podcast to engage with new audiences and suggested further efforts to leverage digital technologies for broader outreach.
During the event, Dr. Pascal Dozie, Chairman of the NESG Advisory Board, underscored the summit’s role as a constructive platform for dialogue on Nigeria’s economy. Ifueko Omoigui-Okauru, Managing Partner of Compliance Professionals PLC, emphasized the importance of partnerships between the public and private sectors and the need to establish a foundation of like-minded individuals across sectors.
