The bill’s approval followed the presentation of a report by the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, chaired by Senator Abdulhamid Ahmed (APC-Jigawa), during Wednesday’s plenary session.

Ahmed highlighted that the bill aims to enhance the operations of police training institutions and boost the capacity of officers, thereby ensuring better service delivery.

He noted that the institutions have suffered from years of neglect, lacking adequate legal and financial support for effective functioning. The proposed legislation seeks to transform them into high-level centers for professional training and development.
