comments he made while in Ede, Osun State, regarding Governor Ademola Adeleke’s leadership.

During his visit, Doguwa reportedly praised Adeleke’s political strength, saying, “With the development strides of Governor Adeleke and the kind of political strength I’ve witnessed here, Osun seems like a ‘no-go area’ for opponents.” These remarks, however, caused an uproar within the APC, prompting a statement from the party’s spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, calling for an investigation into Doguwa’s comments, accusing him of undermining the party.

In response, Doguwa, who represents the Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in Kano State, emphasized his unwavering loyalty to the APC, noting that he has been a founding member and remains a strong supporter of the party. He clarified that his words were taken out of context and manipulated by the media team of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun, who, according to Doguwa, twisted his comments to gain political advantage.

He stressed, “My remarks were misinterpreted. The PDP in Osun distorted my innocent comments to attack the APC. It’s unfortunate that they used my words for cheap political gain.” Doguwa reassured the party that this incident would not hinder their efforts to reclaim Osun State in the 2026 governorship election.
