Tambuwal Criticizes President Tinubu For Blaming Buhari (View Text)
Sokoto South Senator Aminu Tambuwal has stated that President Bola Tinubu cannot dissociate himself from the failures of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Tambuwal urged Tinubu to stop his ministers and aides from attacking Buhari.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto on Sunday, the former governor expressed his concerns over the current administration’s approach to governance.
“The same Tinubu government that has failed to secure Nigerians or bring development is now lamenting and disassociating itself from Buhari’s administrative failure,” Tambuwal said. He emphasized that Tinubu should refrain from allowing his aides or ministers to castigate the previous administration, from which he has benefitted as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Tambuwal stressed the need for President Tinubu to focus on governance with serious-minded attention and avoid allowing short-sighted tendencies to undermine his plans for national security and development. “President Tinubu should face the governance of Nigeria with serious-minded attention and not allow certain myopic tendencies in his government to destroy his good plan on securing our nation and bringing cohesion and development to our country if at all he is ready.”
He called for unity and commitment to change the country, stating, “Nobody can change our country for us. We need determination and commitment. Our party and supporters should be united.”
Tambuwal’s remarks reflect growing tensions and dissatisfaction with the current administration’s handling of Nigeria’s challenges and its tendency to blame past leadership.
