The attack took place along Kente Road in the Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State. Wukari Council Chairman Dauda Samaila Agbu expressed his deep concern over the incident, calling it “deeply troubling.”

Reports indicate that Atsi Kefas was shot during the assault and initially treated at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Wukari. She was later rushed to Abuja after her condition stabilized for further medical treatment.

The Wukari council chairman urged residents to stay calm as authorities work to apprehend the attackers.

The Taraba State Police Command, confirmed the attack through its spokesperson, Usman Abdullahi, describing it as an armed robbery. However, the police did not confirm whether the victims were related to the governor.

At the time of this report, there had been no official statement from the state government.
