and other dignitaries.
The president departed Rio de Janeiro’s Galeão Air Force Base earlier on Saturday after engaging in the summit, where he reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to combating hunger and poverty globally.
During the event, Tinubu held bilateral talks with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Georgieva praised Tinubu’s economic reforms, while the president stressed the need for collaboration on issues like education and economic inclusion.
“We have too many children out of school, and education is the key to breaking the cycle of hunger and poverty. We are developing incentives to keep children in school and need your support to achieve this,” Tinubu stated.
He also highlighted efforts to broaden Nigeria’s tax base while avoiding additional financial burdens on citizens, aiming to foster inclusive economic growth.
The president was accompanied by key officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar; the Minister of Livestock Development; and the Minister of Arts, Tourism, Culture, and Creativity.
The G20, consisting of 19 countries and the European Union, includes Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Türkiye, the UK, and the US.
