Tinubu Warns Yoruba Nation Agitators: “You’ll Pay the Price”
President Bola Tinubu has issued a stern warning to ethnic agitators, particularly those advocating for the Yoruba Nation, cautioning them against threatening the sovereignty and unity of Nigeria. During a meeting with leaders of the Yoruba socio-cultural body, Afenifere, led by Pa Reuben Fasoranti, Tinubu emphasized that those who seek to undermine Nigeria’s sovereignty will face the full consequences of their actions. He asserted that there would be no relenting in holding such individuals accountable.
Tinubu reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the unity of Nigeria and constitutional democracy, citing significant progress made in addressing insurgency across the country during his administration. He highlighted the importance of security in fostering development and expressed confidence in the government’s efforts to combat terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping.
The president assured that the battle against these security challenges is being intensified, with notable successes achieved through enhanced intelligence gathering and proactive measures. Tinubu reiterated his administration’s stance against the payment of ransom to criminals and vowed to continue confronting threats to Nigeria’s sovereignty and stability.
