Tragedy Strikes Borno Varsity As Dangote Truck Crushes Two Students To Death

leaving the university community in shock. The incident occurred when a Dangote truck lost control and collided with a BOSU student bus, killing a final-year male student and a second-year female student.

The accident happened on Wednesday as students were returning home after their semester exams. Several other students were injured and rushed to two hospitals in Maiduguri for treatment. The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babagana Gutti, and other officials visited the injured students at the hospitals to offer support.

In a display of solidarity, a group of BOSU students arrived at the hospitals to comfort their injured colleagues and donate blood to aid their recovery. The remains of the two deceased students are scheduled to be laid to rest on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the university community, with many students and staff mourning the loss of life
