Transfer Bombshell: Ferran Torres Joins PSG From Barcelona In €50m Move

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Spain international Ferran Torres from Barcelona on a long-term contract running until 2031.

According to Ireporter Online, the French champions confirmed the arrival of the 26-year-old forward, who will wear the No. 9 shirt at the club. The transfer fee is reportedly in the region of €45 million to €50 million.

Torres joins PSG after an impressive campaign with Barcelona and a standout international tournament with Spain. He reportedly played a key role in Spain’s World Cup triumph, scoring the decisive extra-time goal against Argentina in the final as La Roja secured their second men’s World Cup title.

The forward enjoyed a productive season at club level as well, recording 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions and helping Barcelona secure the La Liga title.

PSG moved swiftly to strengthen their attacking options as the club continues its dominance in European football. The French side has won the Champions League in each of the last two seasons and recently added the UEFA Super Cup to its trophy cabinet after defeating Aston Villa 2-1.

Torres becomes PSG’s second major attacking signing of the summer following the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco.

The transfer also reunites Torres with PSG manager Luis Enrique, who previously coached him with the Spanish national team and handed him his senior debut in 2020 during a Nations League encounter against Germany.

Torres began his football journey at Valencia, joining the club’s academy at the age of seven after initially playing futsal. He made history in December 2017 when he became the first player born in the 21st century to feature in La Liga.

After three seasons with Valencia, Torres moved to Manchester City in 2020. He made 43 appearances for the Premier League club, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists while winning the Premier League and League Cup.

Barcelona secured his services in January 2022, and he went on to make 207 appearances for the Catalan giants, scoring 65 goals. During his time at the club, he won three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.

At international level, Torres has also enjoyed considerable success. He won the European Under-17 Championship in 2017 and the Under-19 title two years later before becoming an established member of Spain’s senior team.

He was part of Spain’s Nations League-winning squad in 2023 and European Championship-winning team in 2024 before playing a decisive role in the country’s latest World Cup triumph.

Torres has earned 65 senior caps for Spain and scored 25 international goals.

His arrival in Paris could also have implications for PSG’s plans regarding Bradley Barcola, with Liverpool reportedly interested in the France international as the French champions continue to assess their attacking options.
