Tribunal: PEPC Speaks On Judgment On Atiku, Obi, APM Petitions

The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) has announced that it will deliver judgments on the petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)/Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi/Labour Party (LP), and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) against the election of President Bola Tinubu.

The Presiding Justice of the PEPC, Justice Haruna Tsammani, informed the parties that the judgments would be delivered on the same day, in line with the court’s practice guidelines.

During the adoption of final written addresses by the lawyers, the respondents’ lawyers, including Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) for President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, urged the court to dismiss the petitions as unmeritorious.

The petitioner’s counsel, Andrew Malgwi (SAN), requested the court to allow the petition and grant the reliefs sought.

The APM petition sought to invalidate Tinubu’s participation in the presidential election, alleging double nomination of his running mate and claiming a violation of constitutional and electoral provisions.

The APC argued that the issue of non-qualification raised by the APM had already been addressed in a Supreme Court judgment.

The PEPC plans to deliver judgments on all three petitions simultaneously, and the date will be communicated to the parties involved.
