Why Nigerians Should Buy Made-In-Nigeria Goods – Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to support locally made products and services as a means to sustain the recent gains of the naira in the foreign exchange market. Ngelale emphasized that while the recent appreciation of the naira against the dollar is a positive development, it remains insufficient. He credited the strengthening of the naira to collaborative efforts between the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other governmental bodies, particularly in tackling illicit practices within certain cryptocurrency trading platforms.
Highlighting the importance of a robust naira for the working population, Ngelale stressed the need for increased purchasing power, especially in light of the impending implementation of a new minimum wage.
President Tinubu, through Ngelale, called for a concerted effort to patronize made-in-Nigeria products across various sectors. This intentional support for local industries, according to Ngelale, is key to enhancing the value of the national currency and improving spending power, both domestically and internationally.
Additionally, Tinubu urged citizens to report any activities undermining the local currency, emphasizing that combating such practices requires collective action from all Nigerians. He emphasized that this is not merely a government issue but a concern for the entire nation, as the detrimental effects of such actions affect everyone.
