Wike Fires Back at Amaechi: Respect Comes from Integrity, Not Age

Published

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded to comments made by former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, accusing him of lacking respect.

Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, had earlier questioned Wike’s respect for him and even challenged the FCT Minister to prove his popularity by trekking with him from Abuja to Port Harcourt.

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television on Friday, Wike dismissed Amaechi’s remarks, insisting that respect is earned through integrity and honour, not simply by age.

“You should be respected by your integrity, honour, and not because you are 200 years old. It is unfair for him to make the comment that he is my senior,” Wike stated.
