Kaduna Road Tragedy: 2 Tankers Collide, Four Suffer Injuries In Shocking Crash!
Four people were rushed to the hospital on Monday following a collision between two tankers at the Dan Magaji area along the Zaria-Kaduna Expressway in Kaduna, according to iReporter Online.
Eyewitnesses reported that the accident happened early Monday morning involving a tanker loaded with Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and an empty tanker.
According to iReporter Online, the collision’s impact sparked a fire outbreak, resulting in burns of varying severity for four individuals who were immediately taken to the hospital.
The Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Zaria, Nasir Abdullahi Falgore, confirmed that the LNG-laden tanker crashed into the rear of the empty tanker, which had reportedly suffered a tire puncture.
The Area Commander of the Federal Fire Service in Zaria, Aminu Ahmadu Kiyawa, told iReporter Online that his team responded promptly after receiving the distress call.
He explained, “Three persons sustained burns from the explosion involving the gas-laden tanker, while one other victim was evacuated from the second tanker.
All four were rushed to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika, for medical attention.”
Kiyawa also dismissed earlier rumors about smaller vehicles being involved, clarifying that only the two tankers were part of the accident and there were no fatalities.
