In a statement issued on Wednesday, Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, claimed, “If there is anyone in Nigerian politics who truly embodies desperation, it is President Tinubu.” He continued, “Through his unchecked actions, he continues to blur the line between state power and personal ambition, consolidating his control over the nation and its institutions.”

Ibe stated, “Atiku’s prophetic warnings have begun to unfold. He was among the first to raise concerns about Tinubu’s efforts to populate INEC with members of his own political party, the APC. Today, we witness this plan unfolding before our eyes.”

He further highlighted the president’s conflicts of interest, particularly regarding the awarding of lucrative contracts to family-associated companies. Ibe concluded by urging the ruling party to look at its own actions, saying, “If anyone embodies political desperation, it is President Tinubu himself, whose unchecked power continues to blur the line between personal ambition and state authority.”

Ibe warned that these actions pose a serious threat to Nigeria’s democracy, lamenting the irony of a leader who once championed democratic ideals now opposing the very principles that shaped his political rise.
