This initiative aims to improve the livelihoods of farmers in the region. Boluwade highlighted that this will be the first laboratory of its kind in South West Nigeria, offering local soil testing services to farmers—eliminating the need to travel to private labs in Ibadan or even as far as Kenya.

The project is a partnership between the Ekiti State Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. It also presents opportunities for collaboration with universities and polytechnics offering Soil Science programs, ultimately enhancing service delivery to farmers in Ekiti and neighboring areas.
