According to reports, the explosion occurred on November 12, 2024, around 10:43 AM, at the Jigawa-Kano border near Tsaida, Kwanar Kalle, close to Gamoji village on Maiduri Road. The Federal Fire Service (FFS) quickly responded to the distress call from the Kuho Village Head and arrived at the scene within minutes. Thankfully, the fire was contained and brought under control by 10:50 AM.

This incident mirrors a tragic event on October 15, 2024, when a petrol-laden truck exploded in Majia, Taura Local Government Area, killing over 170 people. The cause of the recent explosion remains under investigation.

In related news, operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State arrested a tanker driver for allegedly diverting fuel intended for the NNPC mega station in Osogbo. The driver, Afeez Adegbola, was caught attempting to offload the diverted fuel into an independent filling station.
