BREAKING: Yahaya Bello Reveals New Ambition

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has expressed his current focus on supporting President Bola Tinubu’s success. Although Bello was a significant presidential contender within the All Progressives Congress (APC) for 2023, he emphasized that the success of President Tinubu would translate to success for all Nigerians.

Speaking at the 3rd Annual GYB Seminar for Nigeria’s Political & Crime Correspondents/Editors in Abuja, the governor expressed gratitude for his accomplishments in Kogi State and his confidence in the APC candidate, Usman Ododo, to build upon the foundation laid down.

He anticipates a resounding victory for the APC in the upcoming Kogi governorship election on November 11. Addressing concerns about party unity in the state, Bello affirmed the strength of the APC in Kogi and highlighted the party’s internal mechanisms for conflict resolution.

In a presentation titled “Unity in a Multi-Ethnic, Multi-Religious Society, the Kogi Story,” the state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, emphasized that candidates should campaign on the basis of merit rather than ethnic sentiments.

The Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, Asiru Idris, outlined deliberate policies implemented by the Yahaya Bello administration to promote good governance, accountability, transparency, and a reduction in the state’s debt burden.

Additionally, the Kogi Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones, highlighted the state’s commitment to education, making it not only free but compulsory. He noted that budgetary allocation to the education sector in Kogi has exceeded UNESCO’s recommended benchmark, underscoring the government’s dedication to education.
