It was unearthed in the village of Dürrnberg, known for its early rock salt mining activities, which aided in preserving the shoe remarkably well.

Professor Thomas Stoellner, head of the Research Department at the German Mining Museum, praised the outstanding condition of the find.

This discovery provides valuable insights into the lives of Iron Age miners.
