Edo Guber: INEC Reports 2.1 Million PVCs Collected

Professor Rhoda H. Gumsus, the commission’s National Commissioner overseeing Edo State affairs, revealed this information during a stakeholders’ engagement meeting on the continuous voters registration exercise held in Benin City. Represented by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anugbum Onuoha, Gumsus disclosed that this number accounts for a significant portion of the 2,501,08 million registered voters in the state, with 373,030 PVCs remaining uncollected.

Highlighting the importance of updating the voter register, Gumsus noted that the continuous voter registration exercise, suspended in July 2022 to prepare for the 2023 general election, will resume for 10 days starting from May 27 to June 5, 2024. She emphasized the need to accommodate newly eligible voters who turned 18 after the suspension of the exercise and urged stakeholders to mobilize prospective registrants.
