APC Leaders Claim Obaseki, Ighodalo, PDP In Panic Mode Ahead Of Edo Gubernatorial Election

In a statement, these leaders accused Governor Obaseki, the PDP, and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, of orchestrating a smear campaign against APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

Members of the APC Vanguard, representing these leaders, highlighted the sudden desperation exhibited by the PDP, Obaseki, and Ighodalo, suggesting apprehension over a potential defeat in the impending polls.

A network of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria recently held a press conference and petitioned various authorities, alleging that Okpebholo had publicly sprayed naira notes at an event.

David Osarobo, the national coordinator of the Vanguard, questioned the motives behind what he termed as “desperate measures” by Obaseki and Ighodalo, resorting to character assassination to gain political advantage.

Osarobo emphasized Okpebholo’s rising popularity since emerging as the APC candidate and dismissed the alleged attempts to tarnish his image.

He reiterated the APC’s commitment to addressing the state’s challenges, citing ongoing federal projects and social welfare programs under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Osarobo concluded by urging Edo residents to support Okpebholo as the next governor, framing the election as a choice between the APC’s developmental agenda and what he described as the “clueless administration” of Governor Obaseki.
