EFCC Uncovers Cybercrime Ring In Oyo, Arrests 23 Suspects

The arrests were made by operatives from the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to fraudulent online activities.

In a statement released on Wednesday via X, the commission confirmed that the operation resulted in the recovery of various items believed to be proceeds of illegal activities. These included eight exotic cars, multiple laptops, mobile phones, and a PlayStation game console.

The statement added, “Operatives from the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate arrested the 23 suspects in connection with internet fraud. These suspects were apprehended after intelligence linked them to fraudulent activities. Items recovered from them include eight exotic cars, laptops, phones, and a PlayStation game console.”

The suspects will face charges in court after the investigation is completed.
