Confirmed by the Senate on December 21, 2023, the new Justices represent a pivotal addition to the apex court’s bench, marking a milestone in the nation’s legal landscape.

According to Festus Akande, spokesman for the Supreme Court, the swearing-in ceremony will commence at 10 am in the court’s main chamber, signifying a momentous occasion for the Nigerian legal system.

Among the distinguished Justices set for the oath-taking are Jummai Hannatu Sankey, Chidiebere Nwaoma Uwa, Chioma Egondu Nwosu-Iheme, Haruna Simon Tsammani, and Moore Aseimo A. Adumein. Completing the cohort are Justices Obande Festus Ogbuinya, Stephen Jonah Adah, Habeeb Adewale O. Abiru, Jamilu Yammama Tukur, Abubakar Sadiq Umar, and Mohammed Baba Idris.
