The incident occurred over the weekend, near Logomani village, approximately 80 kilometers from Maiduguri, when vehicles drove over the planted IED. This comes shortly after a similar explosion targeted a vehicle carrying members of the Civilian Joint Task Force on the same route, resulting in the death of 10 individuals. The victims of the latest explosion were returning from a wedding ceremony in Gamboru, a border town with Cameroon. A relative of one of the deceased confirmed the tragic event on social media, mourning the loss and praying for the departed souls. The victims were laid to rest on the same day in accordance with Islamic customs. As of now, attempts to obtain official confirmation from the Police Public Relations Officer, Daso Kenneth, have been unsuccessful.
