The state’s Health Commissioner, Musa Isma’ila, confirmed that at least 26 deaths have been reported due to the outbreak, though the disease has not yet been officially confirmed as meningitis. Symptoms observed include fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, vomiting, and diarrhea, among others. A total of 248 suspected cases have been recorded, with samples sent to a laboratory for testing. The state is collaborating with organizations like the WHO, MSF, and UNICEF to strengthen the response efforts.
