Governor Makinde Approves Career-Boosting Conversion For 654 Oyo Civil Servants

According to Ireporter Online, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has authorized the conversion of 654 civil servants across various levels within the state’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, in a move hailed as a significant boost to employee morale and career advancement.

The approval was confirmed in a statement released on Friday by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, and shared with journalists in Ibadan.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Kamoru Aderibigbe, stated that the beneficiaries are officers in sub-officer cadres, covering both junior and senior levels of the civil service. He explained that the affected employees became eligible for conversion after enhancing their academic and professional qualifications through recognized courses from accredited tertiary institutions nationwide.

Aderibigbe added that the decision would lead to improved welfare, enhanced remuneration, and clearer career progression for the officers. “This approval will not only increase the salaries of the affected officers but also provide them with opportunities to reach the peak of their careers within the civil service,” he said.

He further encouraged the beneficiaries to view the approval as a privilege and to demonstrate renewed dedication, diligence, and responsibility in the performance of their duties.

Expressing gratitude to Governor Makinde, Aderibigbe described the decision as an exceptional end-of-year gesture, emphasizing that it highlights the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare and the professional development of Oyo State’s civil service.
