Musa Aliyu, the Chairman of ICPC, made this announcement on Saturday at a high-profile seminar marking the 2024 International Anti-Corruption Day.

During the seminar, Aliyu commended the resilience of Nigerian youths in the fight against corruption, praising their role as a positive force for the nation’s future. He also touched on the persistent issue of sexual harassment in Nigerian universities, affirming the commission’s commitment to addressing this critical matter.

Aliyu stressed that fighting corruption, in all its forms—whether job racketeering, abuse of power, or other misconduct—is vital to restoring national development and trust in public institutions.

In a related development, the ICPC has urged Nigerians to join the battle against corruption before it destroys the nation. The anti-graft agency highlighted the devastating impact of corruption on the country’s economic and social fabric and encouraged citizens to act courageously by exposing corrupt practices.

Ekere Usiere, the Commission’s Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner in Yenagoa, echoed this message during an Anti-Corruption Day event. Usiere’s presentation, titled From Fear to Courage: Overcoming Barriers to Whistleblowing in Nigeria, warned that without the bravery to confront corruption, Nigeria risks being overwhelmed by it in the future.
