Ilorin Cleric Attacks Osun Priestess, Worshippers (VIDEO)

A newly surfaced video depicts Muslim clerics issuing threats to a group of Isese worshippers in the Oko Owo area of Ilorin, Kwara State.

In the video, the Isese worshippers are engaged in performing traditional rites by a river when the clerics intervene, ordering them to leave.

The video was shared on Facebook by Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh Islamic Da’wah on Friday night with the caption, “ANOTHER OSUN WOMEN CAUGHT LIVE @ OKO OLOWO IN ILORIN TODAY!!!”

In the video, one of the Muslim clerics aggressively approaches the priestess, whose identity remains unknown, along with two other girls in her group, threatening to disrupt their traditional procession and rites physically.

He is heard speaking in Yoruba, warning them against performing the sacrifices and holding up calabashes.

The women in the priestess’ group assert that they are indigenes of Ilorin and retaliate, expressing defiance against the cleric’s intolerance towards their traditional religious practices.

Despite the cleric’s threats, the priestess and her group continue with their rites, undeterred.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident in Ilorin, as a few weeks earlier, The PUNCH reported a similar case involving Yeye Ajesikemi Olokun Omolara, who was also threatened by the Muslim group Majlisu Shabab li Ulamahu Society in an attempt to halt a planned Isese festival in Kwara State’s capital.
