Nigerian Air Force Launches Investigation Into Kaduna Training Aircraft Crash

In a press release by Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, it was revealed that the incident occurred during a routine training flight, with both pilots escaping unharmed.

“The accident, which occurred about 3.5 nautical miles from Kaduna Military Airfield, involved two pilots who were returning from a routine training flight. Luckily, both pilots came out of the crash unscathed,” the statement read.

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, has directed a preliminary investigation to determine the immediate cause of the crash, as confirmed by Gabkwet.

This incident adds to a series of military jet crashes in Nigeria over the past nine years, with the most recent occurring in December 2023 when an MI-35P helicopter crashed in Port Harcourt, injuring five crew members.
