Despite the road being earmarked for reconstruction in response to residents’ complaints about its deplorable state, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr Ade Akinsanya, emphasized that authorization from the Minister of Works is necessary due to the road falling under federal jurisdiction.
In a statement shared on its official platform, the state government expressed its commitment to improving transportation infrastructure, including pathways leading to the Abeokuta train station. However, navigating bureaucratic procedures for federal roads remains a challenge.
The government highlighted its success in obtaining approval for the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta Road, reflecting its perseverance in addressing infrastructure concerns despite bureaucratic hurdles.
