Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, highlighted these demands in a communiqué on Saturday. He emphasized the need for consultations with critical stakeholders to ensure unity within the party, noting concerns from members, elders, and founding figures about internal divisions.

The Forum attributed the latest NEC postponement to solidarity with Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, whose late wife is set to be buried on the originally scheduled date. However, they stressed the importance of holding the NEC by February to resolve leadership and litigation challenges facing the PDP.

Mohammed expressed empathy for Nigerians struggling under economic hardships, blaming policies of the APC-led Federal Government. He urged President Bola Tinubu to implement macroeconomic reforms to alleviate the nation’s financial burdens.

The Forum reaffirmed the commitment of PDP governors to policies that prioritize development and reduce economic hardships while expressing concerns over recent APC victories in Edo and Ondo State elections. They called on the judiciary to safeguard the integrity of the country’s democracy.
